Max Payne tops weekend box office.

Los Angeles (That Happened!) - The latest video game adaptation, “Max Payne” came in at the top of the box office this weekend with $18 million.

“Max Payne” stars Mark Wahlberg as a DEA agent whose family was killed as part of a conspiracy and Mila Kunis plays an assassin out to avenge her sister’s death. The couple is being hunted by police, the mob and a ruthless corporation.

“The Secret Life of Bees” based on a children’s novel and starring Dakota Fanning, Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson came in third with $11 million. Being beat by ” Bees” was Oliver Stone’s George Bush Biopic ” W” with $10.5 million. In its fourth week

” Eagle Eye” , a suspense thriller starring Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan held onto the fifth spot with $7.3 million bringing its total to just over $81 million.
