New York (That Happened!) - Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson has lost her mother, brother and nephew to a murderous rampage that happened on Friday in her mother’s Chicago home.
The only suspect, Jennifer’s former brother-in-law is in custody but no charges have been laid. After hearing the horrific news American Idol judges Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell offered words of condolence to the family.
Abdul stated Monday after the news of Hudson’s nephew being found murdered “This is a horrific tragedy and my thoughts and prayers go out to Jennifer and her entire family.
The time I had to get to know Jennifer and forge a wonderful friendship with her while she was on Idol was very special to me, and I personally can’t imagine a greater loss for any family.”
Cowell also sent a message to Hudson and her family “I was horrified when I heard the news. This is an appalling tragedy. My thoughts right now are with Jennifer, and her family.”
The 27 year-old singer come actor made her start on American Idol making it into the top twelve.
