New York (That Happened!) - Actress Kate Winslet posed nude for the cover of the December edition of Vanity Fair magazine.

The photo session conducted by the photographer Steven Meisel, was made as a tribute to French actress Catherine Deneuve in the film Beautiful Day.

Two years ago, at 31, Kate Winslet became the youngest actress ever to earn five Oscar nominations. This go-round, either of her two new movies—Revolutionary Road, which re-unites her with Leonardo DiCaprio, or The Reader—could put a statue in her hands. Winslet talks about having been a fat girl, getting checked out by the moms at her kids’ school, and going one-on-one with DiCaprio for her husband, director Sam Mendes.

Winslet say she sometimes thinks she looks “a little bit wrong.” and admits to wanting to avoid fame because she was “fat.”

“I never had huge ambitions, never. I was fat. I didn’t know any fat famous actress. I just did not see myself in that world.”, says Winslet.

The stunning 33-year-old actress tells the mag: “I often look at women who wear great jeans and high heels and nice little T-shirts wandering around the city and I think, I should make more of an effort. … But then I think, they can’t be happy in those heels.”
