New York - On Tuesday, the American Idol auditions were at the Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Churchill Downs is where the Kentucky Derby is held.

There were 11,000 contestants with a few really good, a lot of really bad and a few in between auditions. None of the contestants that made it to Hollywood were from Louisville.

Joanna Pacitti, a girl who has trying to make it in the music business since she was 16 from Philadelphia, Matt Giraud, a self taught dueling piano player from Michigan, and Leneshe Young from Cincinnati, who impressed the judges by singing her own song, “Natty”, were among the non-Kentucky residents to make it to Hollywood.

Brent Keith, who sang “Bad Company” and Alexis Grace who sang, “Dr. Feelgood”, also made it to Hollywood.

There were four singers that made it through to Hollywood and their auditions were shown very quickly.

There were many bad and uncomfortable auditions, such as from Mark Mudd who was a troubled young man that sang “White Lightning” and did not impress the judges. He told the judges to take care and be careful when he left and Simon took it as a threat.

Aaron Williamson with his screaming rendition of “Have You Ever Seen The Rain?”, the nerdy opera singer Ross Playsic, and Rebecca Garcia, a girl who had a cheat sheet written on her arm and crushed when Kara asked her if her audition was a joke were among the bad auditions.

In the end, only 19 people succeeded to Hollywood.
