Seattle - On Wednesday, Google stated that it is going to launch a reseller program when the new Google Apps Premier makes its debut. The program will allow resellers to sell the new Apps and directly make profit. The new Apps program will be discounted 20% to the resellers. By purchasing the program from resellers, companies will be able to get one on one customer support. The resellers will be responsible for all of the customer’s needs. Also, Google will not be responsible for the billing inquiries; it will be the resellers’ job.

Even though many clients use the free Standard edition, Google has created a high quality Premier edition to appeal to large companies. The program normally costs each user $50.00 annually. To further promote the new Premier edition, Google is limiting the amount of new users a company can have on the Standard edition.

Google stated that it would offer training and tools, along with technical support to the resellers. Google will also provide the tools for incorporating Google Apps into the software used for the users’ businesses.

The president of the Enterprise division of Google, Dave Girourad stated that Google has reached a point in its development where any business would find the new Google Apps program functional and helpful. The reseller program helps more businesses adapt to the world of advanced technology.

The reseller program will offer:
• Links to important information regarding business and technology with online chat sessions.
• Training in technology and sales and will provide materials to aid in marketing techniques to customers
• Tools for the reseller to establish business cliental
• Tools for managing and reports
• Incorporation of REST-based API for organization purposes and for easy access

Google supports cloud computing, which is the latest information technology area. Cloud computing is also referred to as software-as-a-service or SaaS. Sometimes cloud computing is referred to as “Enterprise 2.0”.

A senior product manager of Google Apps, Rishi Chandra said that many companies now know about cloud computing and many of them are accepting the model into their organization.

Google declared that there are over ten million users of Google Apps including over a million small and large companies.

Google Apps Premier includes: Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Talk, Google Sites, Google Video and Gmail. Users will not be required to install new software, because the applications are constantly updated and refreshed. The applications provide customers and users with the advantages of sharing documents and working as a team with other businesses.

The new program is easy to set up and navigate.

The resellers’ credit report and experience will be assessed by Google to accept or deny them as users. The resellers will be able to start selling the product at the end of March.
