The first live episode of Season Eight of American Idol aired Tuesday night.  The show saw the first batch of 12 contestants from the Top 36 hit the stage. Last night, American Idol started off on a high note, reminding viewers that Randy Jackson used to play with Journey. Not only were we told, “Don’t Stop Believin’”, but we also got to see Randy with a LOT of hair and even more spandex. Awesome. New York - On Tuesday, the American Idol auditions were at the Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Churchill Downs is where the Kentucky Derby is held.
