New York - Mozilla, the maker of the popular Firefox internet browser, has released its newest version of the program, Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 and as of now it's only for developer testing. This version of Firefox is available to use with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux and is available in 54 languages.

New York (That Happened!) - Mozilla Firefox has recorded for the first time in history a world market share of 20 percent, growing together in popularity and in use.
Its main competitor, Internet Explorer, has not been doing so well -- their use by users has dropped to 71 percent.
Firefox is the second most popular browser in the world covering a market share of 18 percent since June 2008, according to published data from a follow-Net Applications, which includes The New York Times.
